Q&A: second person car insurance?

Question by yours.truly: second person car insurance?
i just got my license and my parents won't let me drive our car because i don't have my name in the car insurance. i want to know if the insurance will go higher because they will be adding another driver? i'm only 17 yrs old, i heard alot of stuff such as the insurance will go up because i'm way too young blah blah blah. then, there's this other one where they say the insurance will not go that high because you're a girl, what does gender
