can I insurance my car with a driving license from another state?

Question by : can I insurance my car with a driving license from another state?
I have a florida license, but I'm going to NY for some months, I will buy a car there can I make insurance for the car? I'm not florida resident i am a non immigrant.

i know that cars in florida are less expensive but I don't have the money here and I will need the car in NY so I must do those steps!
