Q&A: will my canadian car insurance cover me in US?

Question by Jenni: will my canadian car insurance cover me in US?
i'm taking a trip to new jersey soon, i live in montreal. i'm only going for a couple days and i'm wondering if my insurance will still be valid. i'm not taking my own car, it's my dad's, but i do have my own insurance. will i have to buy some kind of temporary insurance? i know you can buy temporary health insurance when going over there. anyone have any answers for me? :)
